As members of St Laurence’s Church we affirm our membership of the worldwide (‘beyond the parish boundary’) Christian Church through our Mission Partnerships.
Our partnerships are fostered through:
Prayer: each week one of our partners, friends of the church in service overseas, or a Christian organisation with which we have links is included in our intercessions. Each Home Group is linked with a Mission Partner, for whom members regularly pray.
Giving: One tenth of the annual "uncommitted giving" is shared among those we are supporting in mission "beyond the parish boundary". Special collections are made in cash or kind for particular needs of our partners.
Welcoming visits from partners: Usually three visits are arranged each year, which means a partner (or their representative) visits the Parish every other year.
Our current partnerships:
We also support:
Ralph Upton - Valleys of Hope. Ralph's charity is endeavouring to establish a version of HTB's "Caring for ex-offenders" in Wales, as well as working with 11-25 year-olds in substance abuse education, and continuing to support his former clients with the Church Army project in Aberdare. Scripture Union's work in schools - click here for further information.
Fane Conant - a member of our church, conducting evangelistic missions in Eastern and Southern Europe under the auspices of Louis Palau "Next Generation" missions. Find out more here.
Support for our Mission Partners is fostered by the World Mission Group:
whose membership includes Church members who have undertaken to be responsible for keeping in touch with a specific Partner and others who wish to encourage this aspect of our Church’s life. Please click here for further details of the World Mission Group.
