My husband and I retired to Shropshire in 2017, however, as we had met as teenagers in Shrewsbury and have family still living there, it was something of a long overdue homecoming. Once settled in the Shropshire hills, we soon felt that God wanted us to make St Laurence’s in Church Stretton our home.
We both had careers in the computer industry and raised our three sons in a small village in west Surrey, where we became involved in the life of the parish church. Having led the children’s work at church and through being a school governor, I made a career change and spent the last 15 years of my working life as a primary school teacher. Now, with more time to spare, I am pleased to be able to serve as Church Warden. To relax, I work in my garden which is my passion; I am blessed to be creating a garden from scratch in such a beautiful part of God’s creation.
