All Saints' Church, Little Stretton
Historical
Background
All Saints’
Church is located in the centre of the village of Little
Stretton. It was built in 1903 as a ‘chapel of ease’ to
serve the village and be part of the parish. It celebrated
its centenary in October 2003. Standing in its own large
garden, both the church and site were given to the village
by a local landowner. The church features striking black and
white walls under a charming thatched roof.
The Local Community
Little Stretton is deeply
rural and is part of the designated AONB. The population in
2002 was some 400, inclusive of the hamlets of Marshbrook,
Minton and Hamperley.
Little Stretton boasts one shop, one church and two public
houses.
